The Dartmoor Beast is a challenging multi-terrain race that traverses the high moor, woodlands, and riverside trails.
Choose either the full 20-mile route or a tough 14-miler, both of which cross open moorland, rivers, bogs, and steep ascents. This epic race covers some of the toughest terrain in the UK, including the summit of High Willhays – the tallest mountain in southern England. Complete the distance to receive your finisher’s medal and a proper Devon cream tea in stunning surroundings – with trophies for fastest male and female.
20-mile route (3,399ft elevation)
Take on a trail like no other through the wild heart of Dartmoor. Cross rivers, weave through ancient woodlands, climb open moorland, scramble rocky paths, and battle through bogs. A true test of trail running grit – raw, rugged, relentless. Push your limits, embrace the elements, and unleash the beast within.
14-mile route (2,224ft elevation)
The “Wee Beastie” may be shorter, but it comes with a serious bite. Expect rugged, unforgiving terrain as you scramble over rocks and power across exposed moorland. This is a raw, high-impact taste of Dartmoor trail running. Dig deep, hold your nerve, and unleash the beast within.
