Hospiscare Heroes – From Christmas pom poms to marathons

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been as busy as ever, finding innovative ways to fund raise for our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

Two children holding Christmas tree pom poms

We are sending our warmest thanks to Poppy and Sonny who have been making these adorable Christmas tree pom poms during lockdown. This sibling team have sold their cute creations to raise money for Hospiscare and have raised £200! Mum Sarah is extremely proud of their hard work and so are we!

A socially distanced cheque presentation for Hospiscare

Thank you also to Claremont Medical Practice in Exmouth who took on our Marathon in a Month challenge! Eleven GPs as well as medical and office staff took part in the challenge and together they raised £1,465!

A stamp collection box for Hospiscare

We are sending our thanks to Neil Samson who is arranging the collection of used stamps for Hospiscare at his local Post Office in Exminster. Neil made this lovely colourful box to go in the Post Office and it will remain there until early January. Thank you to Neil and all of the staff at the Exminster Post Office for supporting us.

If you are able to put a stamp collecting box in your business, we can provide posters and other literature to help you advertise it. You can find out more here.

Finally, thank you (and good luck!) to Anthony and his neighbours in Beacon Lane who are putting on their Christmas lights display for Hospiscare again this year. We are looking forward to seeing their displays and hope it will spread some festive cheer throughout December.

We love hearing your stories about how your are fundraising for Hospiscare so please get in touch with us on Facebook or Twitter to share your photos and fundraising tales.
