Hospiscare is inviting the local community to don their festive finest and lace up their running shoes for the first ever Jingle Jog for Hospiscare.
The brand-new fundraising event is open to everyone, including canine companions, and will take place on Sunday 30 November at Greendale Farm Shop, near Exeter.
This heartwarming event offers something for all ages and abilities, with three festive routes to choose from:
- 2K Children’s Run – a magical loop around Greendale Farm’s animal pens for little ones aged eight and under
- 5K Fun Run – perfect for families with older children, casual runners, park runners and groups
- 10K Timed Run – a festive challenge for experienced runners across grass, gravel, and trail paths
As a local charity, our hospice relies upon public fundraising to generate over 75% of our income. All festive funds raised will go directly to Hospiscare’s specialist services, providing compassionate end-of-life care to adults across the heart of Devon.
Hospiscare’s first Jingle Jog coincides with the launch of Greendale Farm’s first-ever Christmas Market, creating a full day of festive fun, food, and fundraising.
“We’re excited to bring the community together for a festive celebration of exercise and fundraising,” said Martin Stokke, Events Fundraiser at Hospiscare. “From little ones running around the animal pens to seasoned 10K runners in fancy dress, everyone taking part will help us provide vital end-of-life care across Devon this Christmas.”
Participants are encouraged to get creative with their outfits – think tinsel, elf stockings, Santa hats and Christmas jumpers – and to bring along friends, family, or canine companions.
Father Christmas will be on the starting line to set the runners on their way, with the kids’ two-kilometre route looping through Greendale Farm’s animal pens, while the five-kilometre fun run and ten-kilometre competitive run will navigate the farm’s grass and gravel paths.
After the run, participants will be awarded a Jingle Jog medal, and contestants and spectators will be able to enjoy Greendale’s Christmas Market, featuring local crafts, festive food, and seasonal entertainment.
All proceeds from the event will support Hospiscare’s work, caring for patients and their families throughout Exeter, central and east Devon.
