Hospiscare’s Exeter Community Team has won the Board Award at the Pride of Devon Partnership Trust Awards.
Chosen by the Trust’s Chair and CEO, the award recognises the team’s partnership with colleagues on Belvedere Ward at Franklyn Community Hospital in Exeter to transform how palliative care is delivered for people living with dementia.
Clare Grigg, Community Team Leader for the Exeter Locality at Hospiscare, said:
We’re absolutely delighted to receive this award. It’s a wonderful recognition of the partnership between our team and colleagues on Belvedere Ward, and what we’ve achieved together to improve palliative care for people living with dementia and those important to them. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a dedicated team, and congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved recognition.
On the subject of awards, Hospiscare’s Chief Nurse Ruth Wills, has also been recognised for outstanding clinical leadership at the National Palliative and End of Life Care awards.
The judging panel noted Ruth’s exceptional leadership, humility, resilience, and fierce patient advocacy, and human-centric approach to her work.

I have been incredibly privileged to work for Hospiscare for 25 years, delivering and planning care, to ensure that our services are compassionate, inclusive and patient led. This award would not have been possible without the fantastic staff I work with and who go above and beyond for all of our patients to ensure that they all receive outstanding care.
