Hospiscare is leading a 12-day adventure from Delhi to the Indian Himalayas to raise vital funds for local end-of-life care.
The trek will take place from 31 October – 11 November 2026 and will include over 30km of hiking through the breath-taking Indian Himalayas, as well as a community project at the home of the Dalai Lama and a Taj Mahal visit.
Following the incredible success of the hospice’s trek to Machu Picchu last year, which raised £91,976.11, Hospiscare’s fundraising team are excited to share plans for their next global challenge.
Martin Stokke, Senior Events Fundraiser for Hospiscare, says “Taking on a trek for Hospiscare is more than just a physical challenge, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime journey filled with awe-inspiring landscapes, cultural immersion, and shared purpose.
“Our recent trek to Machu Picchu gave our group the change to explore Peru’s rich heritage and push their own physical and mental limits, all while contributing to a local cause that makes a difference to the lives of so many.”

Jessica Laver was one of 24 people who took part in Hospiscare’s Machu Picchu trek. She explains, “The thing that surprised me most about the trek was the community of people coming together. I built a big family out there. Even though I went with somebody, I spent so much time with other people, and we all supported each other every step of the way and that is so precious.
“Although I knew Hospiscare relied on charitable donations, I hadn’t realised how much. The majority of Hospiscare’s funding comes from people like you and me. Without us raising that money, it couldn’t function, and it made me recognise how important it is to do our bit. It’s a resource that none of us can lose and when you need it the most, Hospiscare is there for you.”
Hospiscare is holding an open evening on Wednesday 19 March at Searle House, Dryden Road, Exeter. To book your place on the open evening, email [email protected] or call Martin on 07860 850151. To find out more, please click here.
