Bake a difference this September for Hospiscare

Come together with family, friends or colleagues and host a Coffee Morning to raise vital funds for Hospiscare

Our local hospice charity is asking the community to host a Coffee Morning to help fund end-of-life care.

Hospiscare provides specialist end-of-life care to adults across the heart of Devon and relies on public fundraising to generate 80% of the necessary income. Our charity is asking the community to come together over a cuppa to raise vital funds for our local hospice.

Hospiscare launched our Coffee Morning campaign last week, with members of our fundraising team visiting Darts Farm, Greendale Farm Shop and Otter Garden Centre to encourage members of the public to sign up.

Our charity is urging supporters to be creative with their Coffee Morning fundraisers, from Bake and Bingo nights and cream tea picnics to Bake Off-style competitions with family, friends or colleagues.

Coffee Morning supporter, Cynthia Bromfield, explains: “Hosting a Coffee Morning for Hospiscare is probably the most rewarding thing that you can do. Unfortunately, most people will be affected by terminal illness, whether directly or a family member or friend. Hospiscare offers a fantastic service but they can’t do it without support from people like us.”

Leading the campaign, Fundraising Project Manager, Laura Robertson, says: “This event is a great way to bring people together. At Hospiscare, we understand the power of a great cuppa. Each year, thousands of cups of tea and coffee bring comfort to our patients and their loved ones.

“We are facing a £2.5 million funding deficit so every cuppa really will make a difference to our patients and their loved ones.”
