Our well-loved fundraising event is back for 2025 and we need the strength of our community to reach our million-pound goal.
Thirteen years of stomping boots, raising pints, and devouring pasties has seen £935,000 raised for our local hospice charity and this year, Hospiscare has its sights set on passing the £1 million mark.
Caring for over 2,200 patients every year, Hospiscare’s vital services receive just 15% funding from the Government. Our hospice must therefore rely upon the incredible generosity of our community to ensure that specialist end-of-life care is provided to the people of Exeter, Central and East Devon at no cost to patients and their families.
Returning on Saturday 15 March 2025 to Double Locks, Exeter, as well as ‘Your Way’ with the option of choosing both route and location, Men’s Walk is on the brink of raising £1 million in its lifetime and needs as many feet (and paws!) walking the route as possible to generate crucial funds for local end-of-life care.
This year’s event is possible thanks to the continued sponsorship of Wilkinson Grant & Co, as well as the generosity of event partners Exeter Brewery, Chunk of Devon and Double Locks Exeter.
10,481 people have taken part in the much-loved walking event across its 13-year history, with 2,462 people walking in memory of a loved one. This year’s march to a million is a celebration of every person who has stepped up for local end-of-life care.
Senior Events Fundraiser, Martin Stokke, says, “Men’s Walk holds a special place in so many hearts. It’s a chance for friends to reunite, for grandfathers to share meaningful moments with their children and grandchildren, and for everyone to make a real difference to a cause that helps so many.
“This year, we’ll walk in honour of those who have walked before us and in memory of those no longer with us. Together, we can reach the incredible milestone of £1 million for Hospiscare.”
