Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
Firstly we would like to thank John and Steph at Toucan Café and Bistro in Bampton who made a unique addition to our September Coffee Morning Campaign by holding ‘The Bampton Big Breakfast’. On Saturday 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th September they held a Big Breakfast; together with a fantastic raffle which raised the total funds of £450.00 for Hospiscare! Thank you so much to John, Steph, the staff at the café and to the community of Bampton whose kindness and support enable us to provide specialist and vital care to patients and families across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. Our service now spans 1,028 square miles of Devon’s heartland. Which we could not do without support like yours.
Next, we would like to pay a huge thank you to our amazing supporters who have been busy creating themed bags for children who come to the Hospice visiting family members. These bags are very special and will be filled with items such as fun activity books, colouring pens, playdoh, toy cars, dolls, Lego, rubix cubes, notepads and card games. These calming activities can be done together at the bedside, making precious memories at the most important time.
Finally, we would like to give a shout out to local Exmouth Bagpiper Duncan Nelmes. Duncan played his Bagpipes throughout half term to support and raise money for Hospiscare. We are so grateful for his continued support for our cause and what a unique and interesting way to do so!
