Hospiscare Heroes – From Brave Bikers to Football Fundraising!

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their superpowers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.

Firstly, It is not just the Euros that have been keeping football in the spotlight this June! This week we would like to pay a huge thank you to all of those at Dormakaba who held a Charity Football Tournament and raffle on Saturday 8 June at Elmore Football Club, Tiverton with other local businesses and teams.

The tournament was a great success, it was an amazing day with lots in attendance. They have raised nearly £1100 for our charity! There are some great action shots from the day to enjoy! Who says you can’t do good whilst having fun? A charity tournament is a great way to raise funds for a good cause and we are so grateful to have been the chosen receivers.

Thank you to all who helped organise, take part and attend this fantastic event. The money raised will help us continue to provide our services locally.

Next, we would like to thank Kaci Symonds and Asher Mitchell also known as The Dopey Bikers for organising a ride out in aid of Hospiscare.

A massive thank you to those who braved the risk of the British weather (which luckily, turned out to be 100% dry) and to all those who have donated to the cause. The ride out raised £146.40 which is such a fantastic amount of money and will help us provide our speciailist services to those who need it most.

Also, a special thank you goes out to  to Emma and Adrian Shrubb from The Hind Musbury for allowing them to use their car park at the beginning and being great supporters and also to Frank Challis from Frank The Food Creator for the amazing food and drinks after the ride. Also, to Sam Cox and Bill Mitchell who helped expertly marshal the event.

Thank you to all who supported them on their exciting journey! It is great to see community fundraising in all its forms! It just shows how you can combine things you love whilst doing good for others.

Finally, we are so pleased with the kindhearted efforts of Leanne, Maisie and all the staff and customers of the The Beach Pub, Exmouth for their fantastic fundraising for Hospiscare. Leanne lost her father recently and he received end-of-life care. To show their gratitude the team organised a raffle in his honour so more families and their loved ones can experience this specialist care. The raffle included some luxurious prizes including first prize of a premium hamper full of high quality food and drink. There was also many more exciting prizes including vouchers for local businesses and restuarants for meals and treatments. The raffle was held on Sunday 9 June and the team raised an incredible £1341.00. Thank you to all those who kindly donated prizes and purchased tickets.

We simply couldn’t be there for our patients and their families without your ongoing generosity and support.

Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.
