Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
Firstly, thank you to the Hospiscare Heroes who took on the Exeter Inflatable 5k for Hospiscare! This exciting event took place on 27 April at Westpoint Arena. It involved a 5k distance and 32 obstacles to navigate along the route!
A huge thank you goes to Team Dormakaba, Natalie, Kaycie and their family and Arianne and Emma who all donned their Hospiscare t-shirts and put their best foot forward to take on a run with a difference.
Hospiscare’s own People Team also took on this challenge and raised an incredible £1000! This team are strong and tough and kind in heart and soul and were looking to help in a small way to raise money for Hospiscare and hopefully make a contribution to the funding deficit that the charity is currently facing. If you would like to find out more about their adventure or donate you can find the JustGiving page here.
Feeling inspired? Don’t let anything stand between you and supporting your local hospice. Be a Hospiscare Hero, take on a challenge this year and help raise vital funds to support end-of-life care across Exeter, central and east Devon. You can find more information and how to sign up today, more challenges and inspiration here or email events@hospiscare.co.uk.
Next, we would like to give a big thank you to Hospiscare Heroes Nate and Ash (also known as The Dopey Bikers) who are planning a motorcycle ride out around Axminster and Dorset, this will be taking place on the 15th of June to raise funds for Hospiscare.
If you would like to join in this ride for a good cause you can find out more information by emailing the boys here.
It is great to see the different ways our community are raising money for our local charity!
Finally, this week we would also like to show appreciation to the Mayor of Okehampton, Simmons Bowling Club and all those involved in the charity bowls day held on Sunday 5 May in Okehampton. The event was a great success (despite the rain halting proceedings at half time!) and raised an incredible £700 so far for our charity.
Thank you to all those involved and who took part and congratulations to Inner Wheel for winning the tournament. A wonderful community event to raise much needed funds for Hospiscare. We are so grateful!
Thank you to all our Hospiscare Heroes on behalf of our staff, patients, and their loved ones.
