Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
Firstly, we would like to thank Baker Estates who held a Coffee Morning at Hayne Farm, their new housing development in Honiton. The event was open to all residents and the local community. Attendees enjoyed a selection of teas and cakes while chatting with Hospiscare representatives about our work and charity. The event provided an opportunity for residents to learn more about Hospiscare and services we provide in the local area. The event was a great success and like many community events, help bring together supporters for a worthwhile cause. During the event, Baker Estates presented Hospiscare with a cheque for an impressive £1,500. Those pictures above are; Mary Bolshaw (Hospiscare volunteer), Toni Hiscocks (Area Fundraiser for Hospiscare), Adele Hemming (Marketing Manager for Baker Estates) and Ellie Williams (Corporate Officer for Hospiscare). We are so grateful and this contribution will enable us to continue to provide vital support to those in need. Thank you so much!
Next, we would like to thank the team pictured above from John Lewis, Exeter. These Hospiscare Heroes kindly offered their time to assist with the fitting and preparations of the new Hospiscare shop in Sidwell Street. It is great to see businesses supporting our local charity. It really makes a difference and we are so grateful. You can read about our brand-new, pop-up charity shop in Exeter City Centre here.
Finally, we would like to pay a special honour and thank you to Wendy Manvill and the Pinhoe and Broadclyst Friends of Hospiscare who held a Coffee Morning earlier this month. This was a special thank you Coffee Morning for Wendy as she is stepping down as chair from the group. Wendy has been supporting Hospiscare since 1997, starting off with the St Thomas support group, and then becoming involved with the formation of Pinhoe and Broadclyst’s group. To date the group have raised an incredible £245,727,19! Support groups like these are so vital for our charity. Through bucket collections, coffee mornings, table top sales and various community events they enable us to provide our vital services locally. You can find out more about these groups here. We are so thankful for the dedication of committed supporters like Wendy. Thank you to everyone who attended this Coffee Morning to pay thanks to this Hospiscare Hero!
