Hospiscare Heroes – From SOS appeal donations to 40 Club fundraising

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their super powers to support our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon and help to save our services for the future. Every pound raised can help keep our vital care service running for local people in need.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

We are sending a huge thank you to The Lions Club of Sidmouth for their recent donation of £1,000 to our emergency ‘Save our Services’ Appeal.

In December, the Lions Club members were delighted to be able to resume their traditional Santa fundraising activities in and around the Sid Valley. This meant that when the club members heard about our emergency appeal, they were in a good position to help. 75% of their generous donation will be allocated to main care services at the hospice in Exeter and 25% to the Honiton-based East Devon Clinical Specialist team.

A spokesperson from the Lions Club says, “Hopefully this and other responses to the emergency appeal will help Hospiscare to continue providing its vital services.”

We are so grateful to Baker Estates for their recent donation of £3,500 to our local charity. Every time a house is sold at Baker Estates’ Hayne Farm development near Gittisham, the company donates £100 to Hospiscare.

We are also sending our thanks to Heard & Sendell who joined our 40 Club and pledged to raise £1,000 for our hospice in its 40th anniversary year. The company have raised an amazing £1,100 from their Christmas fundraising – already beating their 40 Club target – and they have lots more planned for 2022!

Finally, we would like to thank fellow 40 Club members, Cornwall Glass, for raising over £700 towards their £1,000 target with a Christmas and Valentine’s raffle. Cornwall Glass has also kindly donated gifts for our Men’s Walk raffle too.
