Hospiscare Heroes – From the Salvation Army Band to Christmas bake sales

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been as busy as ever, finding innovative ways to fund raise for our charity at this difficult time

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

Salvation Army Band playing in the rain

Thank you to the Salvation Army Band for visiting Searle House on Monday and bringing some much-needed cheer on a gloomy day to our patients and staff. This performance was dedicated to a patient on our ward who has been a member of the band for many years.

A Christmas cake sale

Thank you to Honiton Support Group who held their socially distanced table top sale in Lace Walk on the 8 December and raised an incredible £475! Thank you to everyone who supported this.

A stone and thatch cottage

Thank you to the amazing Chagford Friends of Hospiscare who held their Christmas cake stall and live music morning outside Endicott House in Chagford last Saturday. The morning was well-supported and despite the less than ideal weather, raised an amazing £640 for Hospiscare.

A table top sale with a Hospiscare banner

Thank you to Nicky and Clive at Little Woodford for supporting Hospiscare.

W H Squires and Son logo

Our thanks to local, family-run funeral directors Walter H. Squires & Son for their generous support of this year’s Light up a Life.

This is the first year that we have held our annual Light up a Life broadcast online and we are extremely grateful for the sponsorship that we received from Walter H Squires & Son that enabled our event to take place in celebration of the lives of loved ones who are no longer with us.

A bottle of Tesco prosecco

Thank you to Tesco Exe Vale who have kindly donated a lovely bottle of Prosecco as a prize for the winner of ‘Karen’s Strictly Challenge’, a fundraising Strictly sweepstake in memory of Hospiscare colleague Karen.

Two women in front of a flower stall at Waitrose

Thank you to Emily and the staff at Waitrose for their kind donation of a hamper for all of the nurses on the ward at Hospiscare. The team really enjoyed the hamper – thank you for thinking of us Waitrose!

Thank you to Palm Tree Vending for continuing to support us during this difficult time.

Thank you to Perkins Ltd. for their recent donation.

Thank you also to MAT Electrics for their generous donation of £100.

Finally, thank you to Dinan Garage for donating car seat protectors to our nurses.
