Course details
Learn how to safely and competently set up, administer and monitor syringe pumps and develop the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Be able to identify the clinical indications for using a syringe pump
• Be able to identify the drugs and dose ranges commonly used in a syringe pump
• Be able to discuss the general principles when caring and supporting a patient and their carers when a syringe pump is in use
• Be able to recognise common problems which may arise when a syringe pump is in use
• Be able to identify professional accountability and responsibility when caring for a patient when a syringe pump is in use
