The 37th running of the Grizzly/Cub races will take place on Sunday 9th March 2025. The Grizzly and Cub races start and finish on the Esplanade, Seaton. Grizzly participants can expect 3000′ ascent over 20 miles, over the beautiful East Devon countryside through Beer and Branscombe. With two sections of pebble beaches, totalling over a mile; two energy sapping bogs, where runners are often up to their waists in water and mud; and the infamous “Stairway to Heaven”, a steep path up the side of a Hooken Cliffs. Cub participants will experience the two sections of pebble beaches and the Stairway to Heaven over the 9 mile course.
This is a not for profit race organised solely by local volunteers from Axe Valley Running Club and any net profits from the race are donated to various local groups, organisations and charities. To date, over £500,000 has been donated over the past 35 years.
Owing to popular demand for spaces in previous years, registrations for the ballot will open on 30th September – so please keep an eye on the Grizzly website.
