Firewalk FAQs

Firewalk FAQs

Got any questions about our Firewalk? Take a look below

What are the event timings?

Participants sign-in at 6pm. The mandatory Firewalk seminar will begin at 6.30pm prompt. We anticipate the firewalk will be finished by 8.30-9pm

How much does it cost?

Registration is £30 and we ask each person to raise at least £200 in sponsorship.

Is it safe?

We’ve partnered with UK Firewalk, otherwise known as Success Formulae Ltd, a renowned firewalking company. With two Master Firewalking Trainers and a dedicated Firewalk Instructor Academy, they have trained most UK firewalking instructors and many internationally. All our participants will receive expert seminar presentations to prepare you to take on this challenge safely.

Can my friends and family come and watch?

Yes, your friends and family are welcome to come and watch. Winslade Park will be selling hot drinks, snacks and pastries in the Forge (next to the seminar room) prior to the event.

What happens if it’s raining?

We will be monitoring the weather closely and take a review on the day. If weather conditions are severe and deemed unsafe, we will update participants accordingly.

Where is the Firewalk Being Held?

The event is at Winslade Park, Manor Drive, Clyst St Mary, Exeter EX5 1FY. Upon arrival, follow the arrows to the car park, where a volunteer will guide you to the sign-in desk.

Is car parking Available?

Yes, and it’s free!

Why is Hospiscare hosting a Firewalk?

We need to raise £10 million annually to fund our services. The Firewalk is a new event designed to challenge participants mentally and physically without requiring extensive training or high fitness levels.

Why Fundraise for Hospiscare?

We are the adult hospice charity serving Exeter, Mid Devon, East Devon, and North Dartmoor.
As a local charity, we rely on donations and the support of our community in order to fund our services. Without amazing people like you going above and beyond to help raise vital funds, we simply couldn’t be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.

Just look at the difference you could make:

  • By raising £200, you could help to fund over 5 hours of specialist bereavement support for someone grieving the loss of a loved one
  • £650 could help to cover the costs of an airflow mattress for patients on our ward
  • £1,406 could help fund 24 hours of expert care on our specialist ward
