Home Instead Senior Care are supporting Hospiscare this Christmas

Local businesses are making the difference of a lifetime to our patients and their families this Christmas

This winter, we put out a call for local businesses to sponsor the vital care that we provide over the festive season. We asked our business community to consider taking part in our 12 Days of Care by sponsoring a 12 or 24 hour period of care in the lead-up to Christmas. 22 amazing local businesses signed up to make the difference of a lifetime to local families facing terminal illness.

Here, Mark McGlade, Director of Home Instead Senior Care for Exeter & East Devon, tells us why they answered the call to take part in our 12 Days of Care.

A team of work colleagues at Budleigh Beach

Home Instead Senior Care Exeter & East Devon are delighted to support the wonderful team at Hospiscare in providing a Christmas to cherish forever to the patients and families spending the festive period at Searle House.

This Christmas, we’re very aware that many of our Home Instead clients, who live independently in their own homes across Exeter and East Devon, might not have the option of spending the time with their family and friends this year. Therefore, our team of dedicated CAREGivers, chosen for their caring nature, personality and empathy, will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that nobody spends the day on their own.

How is the care and support offered by Home Instead different?

We believe that the care and support we provide to each and every client should be to the same high standard we would give to our own Mum, Dad or family member. We are the only home care provider in the South West to have been awarded a 5-star outstanding rating, across the board, by the Care Quality Commission. All our visits are at least an hour long and our care services are wide ranging and tailored to the specific needs of each person.

The daughter of one of our lovely clients recently said this about the care we provide for her Mum:

“Mum’s CAREGiver has been absolutely outstanding. She always goes above and beyond. More than that, she seems to really ‘get’ Mum and her needs. Please convey my and Mum’s most heartfelt gratitude”

Live well your way with care at home from Home Instead

Home is where we feel most comfortable and we can empathise with the 71% of older people who want to remain living well and independently in their own homes. When deteriorating health starts to take away this independence, our marvellous Home Instead CAREGivers can be on hand to enable a continued and fulfilling life at home.

Our care and support can include any of the following:

  • Companionship
  • Personal Care
  • Home Help
  • Hospital Discharge
  • Dementia Care

If you know a special someone who would benefit from our support to stay safe and well this Christmas and beyond, please do give Rachael or Karina a call to arrange an initial consultation visit. For anyone looking to work in care and make a difference to an older person’s life, please call Tracy to talk about career opportunities on 01395 200600 – full training is always provided.
