Hospiscare Heroes – From bespoke tea towels to parties

Our Hospiscare Heroes have been flexing their super powers to support our charity in an incredible variety of ways

Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon and help to save our services for the future.

From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.

A young girl and a woman holding a big cheque

We are sending a huge thank you to Bea Squires for her continued and incredible support of our local charity.

Whilst attending Blundell’s School, Bea undertook a course known as ‘Bulsa’ during Year 6. The course’s aim was to promote and encourage youth involvement with local charities. This is where Bea discovered her love of fundraising and established ‘Bea’s Teas’, where she sells bespoke tea towels, mugs, tote bags and more, all of her own design.

Bea is now 13 years-old and continues in her fundraising efforts for Hospsicare, with her latest endeavour resulting in a donation of £771.82. This means that Bea has raised an enormous £7,400 for Hospiscare over the past three years!

Thank you Bea – we are so incredibly grateful for your continued support.

Two women holding a big cheque in front of a giant teddy

Hospiscare and Mr Bear would like to personally thank Debbie and Jackie and all of the kind and generous people who purchased draw tickets for the summer hamper at Kentisbeare Village Store and Post Office last month. The draw raised a fantastic £437.65! Thank you to everyone who helped raise awareness and funds, ensuring our patients and their families receive the specialist care they need.

Thank you to Roy Turner and all of the members and volunteers at Colyton AFC and Colyton Peace Memorial Playing Fields for their incredible donation of £650. The money was raised from a party in the park for the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations. A fun day was had by all, with lots of laughter and making memories bringing the community together.

Finally, we are sending our thanks to the members of Awliscombe and Honiton Summer Skittle League for their recent generous donation of £750 to Hospiscare. The team members chose Hospiscare as their charity and donated their annual subscriptions, as well as singles and doubles competition fees. Pictured above is Harry Hawkin from the league alongside Hospiscare representative, Peter Hill.
