Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
Firstly, Thank you to Honiton Carnival club for their generous donation of £200 which was presented at their recent annual general meeting. The donation came from profit raised during their carnival season, and was donated by the club as a way of giving something back to the community. This donation is very much appreciated and will enable us to continue providing our specialist services in your local community.
Next, we would like to thank Fairplace Church in Okehampton. After a very generous legacy, Fairplace Church has been able to make one-off donations to local groups who do important work in and around Okehampton, and Hospiscare was one of those that was very kindly selected. Sharon Collins, Area Fundraiser for Hospiscare, met with Alan Partridge from the church last week to be presented with the cheque. What an amazing donation of £1,000! This will be used within our Hospiscare at Home Services directly in your local community.
Here at Hospiscare, we are so incredibly lucky to have the support of our local community, your dedication and generosity has ensured that Hospiscare has been by the side of patients and their families when they needed it most over the past four decades. Without amazing support like yours, we would not be able to continue to provide our services into the future.
Finally, we would like to thank the heroic supporters who ran the Grizzly on Sunday 18 March.
Huge thank you to the team at Lyme Bay Winery for taking on the Grizzly and the Cub at the weekend! With two sections of pebble beach totalling over a mile, no less than two bogs and a steep path up the side of a cliff, neither the Grizzly or the Cub are for the faint hearted – and by all accounts, this year it was muddier than ever! So far the team have raised a brilliant £90 and if you’d like to show your support and reward their gruelling efforts, you can visit their JustGiving page.
Another Hospiscare Hero we have to mention is Thom who will be representing Hospiscare at the London Marathon this year. Thom took on the Grizzly as some extreme pre marathon training!
Just look at all that mud! So far, Thom has raised £605 for Hospiscare in memory of his Granny Joan and if you’d like to support his fundraising journey, please visit his JustGiving page and donate today. Thank you!
