From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their super powers this week.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the Exeter Friends of Hospiscare for their amazing pop-up shop which raised over £4,000!
A special thank you goes to Jess Macan who worked tirelelessly, not only in the shop, but on the preparations and making the craft items to be sold. Thank you also to Eddie Reilly who staffed the till the entire time that the shop was open. Eddie had to stand in a cupboard to allow social distancing! Our thanks go to Ann Reilly for knitting 80 mini Christmas jumpers – all of which sold out! Thank you to Jo McCreddie who was not only involved in the planning stage but also stayed at the shop early and late to set up and close down. Finally, an enourmous thank you to Dan, aka The Grocer on the Green, for the generous use of his shop during December.
We are so grateful to everyone who donated to the Rusty Pig‘s Ho Ho Hospiscare fundraiser. From all of the local businesses who donated prizes to the raffle to everyone who bought raffle tickets, the fundraiser was a phenomenal success and raised a whopping £2,550 thanks to a final £500 donation from Alistair.
We would like to thank Andrea and Beth at Coldharbour Farm Shop for their continued support and for donating a cream tea for four people to the raffle. Thank you to Mazzard Farm for donating two luxury mini breaks. Thank you to the Rusty Pig for donating a dinner for four, including paired wine and Knights Farm Shop for their luxury hamper. An astounding amount of local businesses donated gift vouchers and additional prizes and we are overwhelmed by their support.
Thank you to Jon and Jane Morton who have been making and selling bird boxes and face masks throughout 2020 and have raised an incredible £1,244.94 for Hospiscare.

The St David’s Players have now raised an incredible £1,500 for Hospiscare since their anniversary production of the Grand Duke in 2019.
Thank you to ‘Yarnbombing Budleigh Salterton’ who kindly supported Hospiscare by decorating post boxes with fun and festive knitted covers, such as the one above. They brought a lot of cheer to the community, as well as raising funds for our charity.

We would like to say thankyou to Vicki Stewart and her team at Tender Victory in Exmouth for kindly choosing us as their charity of choice this Christmas to donate £100. This was completely unexpected and very gratefully received, this year more than ever, and so generous when local businesses are also having to watch their funds. Thank you Tender Victory.
Thank you also to Anna at Action East Devon for donating several sets of scrubs in a variety of sizes for our clinical staff.
We are also extremely grateful to the businesses who donated money to Hospiscare in December as a special Christmas gift to our charity.
