Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
We are sending a huge thank you to Rachel Atherton for taking on a marathon challenge in aid of Hospiscare. Having been on the verge of deferring her space until next year, Rachel realised “who knows what next year or even tomorrow may bring” and booked her flight to Chicago to tackle her 3rd World Marathon Major!
Rachel completed the Marathon in memory of her brother, David, who sadly passed away on 26th March 2020. Thanks to the support of Hospiscare, David was able to be at home with his family.
So far, Rachel has raised an amazing £960 to help Hospiscare be there for other patients and their families when they need us most. If you’d like to help Rachel make every step count, please visit her JustGiving page.
We are also sending our thanks to EDP Environmental for hosting a Quiz Night on Friday in aid of our local hospice. A great night was had by all involved and congratulations to AECOM for coming first on the night!
Thank you to Exeter Business Club who are putting on their annual charity quiz night in aid of Hospiscare on 19 October. Not only is there the opportunity to go head-to-head in a battle of knowledge, food, fizz and entertainment will also be provided with all proceeds going to our hospice charity. Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to Nexus Open Systems, members of our 40 Club, who have so far raised an incredible £1,600 this year for Hospiscare!
