Our Hospiscare Heroes are truly super; week after week, they support our local charity with their fundraising endeavours across Exeter, Mid and East Devon, ensuring we can be there for our patients and their families when they need us most.
From all of us at Hospiscare, we are sending a huge thank you to all of our Hospiscare Heroes. Read on to find out how they have been flexing their superpowers this week.
We are sending a huge thank you to Ottery St Mary Primary School for their fantastic fundraising efforts. The children were delighted to hand over a cheque to Hospiscare for £166.25! The money was raised thanks to the generosity of parents, friends and family members who attended the Year 5 and 6 Christmas performance at the Parish Church on Wednesday 14 December.
In the photo above, some of the Year 5 and 6 children, along with their teachers Mr Pike from Year 6 and Mr Moore from Year 5, are joined by Hospiscare Area Fundraiser Toni Hiscocks.
We would also like to thank Providence Methodist Church at Throwleigh, near Okehampton, for raising an impressive £500 by hosting an art exhibition from April to October last year. This money will go directly to our new Hospiscare@Home service, which covers the areas surrounding Crediton, Okehampton and North Dartmoor.
Thank you to Layla Dakin for raising an incredible £2,745.67 at the end of last year with a Ladies Night at the Tivoli Cinema in Tiverton.
We are sending our thanks to Tiverton Signpost Club whose dedicated fundraising for our local charity during 2022 resulted in a donation of £600!
Thank you to the Lewdown Young Farmers Club who chose Hospiscare as one of their charities for the 2021/2022 club year, resulting in an incredible donation of £2,260.23!
We are also sending our thanks to Mike Hilliar in Budleigh Salterton for turning on his Christmas lights to raise much-needed funds for Hospiscare. Mike raised over £300!
Thank you to Thornes Farm Shop near Crediton who are putting on a pie and quiz night in aid of Hospiscare on Saturday 25 February. The event has already proved popular and is now fully booked!
Finally, we would like to thank Sainsbury’s in Pinhoe for kindly donating tea, coffee and nibbles to our Hospiscare Film Club. The Film Club meets once a month for patients and families to enjoy some quality time together with our staff on hand to support them.
