The Hospiscare shop in Seaton was officially reopened on Thursday 14 March by Mary Ashby, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Seaton Hospiscare@Home.
“It’s a great honour to re-open the Hospiscare shop in Seaton,” says Mary. “It looks lovely.”
The shop was closed for two weeks to update the interior of the shop with a new coat of paint, new fixtures and a change to the layout. “We wanted to enhance the shopping experience for our customers,” explains Helen Hutter, Head of Retail for Hospiscare. “The new layout has created more room for stock on the sales floor while creating an airy atmosphere in the shop.”
Volunteers celebrated the shop’s new look over a cup of tea and a slice of cake. “It’s just such an improvement,” says June, a shop volunteer. “It’s lighter, more organised and a lot more spacious.”
The new shop seems to have been a hit with the customers as well. On re-opening day alone the shop sales were over £360!
Shop manager, Louisa, says, “I’m absolutely chuffed with the nice and shiny new shop! We’ve had nothing but positive comments from our customers. Hopefully it will bring in a lot more people once the word gets out.
“We sell an ever-changing selection of ladies’ clothes and accessories, menswear, homewares, books and wool – all at amazing prices. The new layout means we’re able to put more stock out for sale so there’s even more to choose from.
“Donations of quality clothing and homeware can be dropped off at the shop and they’ll be very gratefully received.”
The shop is open 9am to 4:45pm Monday to Saturday.
