Course details
This course is for Registered Nurses or Non-Registered Senior Care Assistants who have achieved an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent within the workplace. Staff must be covered by their organisation policies and procedures in their work settings.
Learn how to undertake the process of verification of expected adult death and develop an awareness of the necessary underpinning theoretical knowledge. You will gain the following:
- An overview of the legal and ethical issues relating to the verification of Expected Adult Death
- Understanding of accountability and professional responsibility
- Understanding of the physiological signs of death
- Understanding of the process of organ donation
- Understanding of the roles of the coroner, funeral directors and registrar
- Understanding of the examination and documentation required when verifying Expected Adult Death
